840: New Music for Violin and Objects

840 travelled to Manchester to present a concert of music for violin and objects. New works by Michael Baldwin (Weisslich), Dominic Lash (The Dominic Lash Quartet), James Saunders (Bath Spa University), Laurie Tompkins (Slip), as well as 840's own Alex Nikiporenko and Nicholas Peters, were performed alongside Sunday by Vitalija Glovackyte (ACM Ensemble) and EVERYTHING YOU OWN HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A DEPOT SOMEWHERE by Jennifer Walshe (Brunel University). Violinist Ruben Zilberstein was joined by Alex and Nick performing on a variety of objects that range from pom poms and party horns (Walshe) to Sainsbury's bags (Tompkins) and phone vibration motors (Glovackyte).
